Bad Trader: I Cleaned Out My Portfolio Again
It happened again. I realized I wasn’t going to make it to payday with the cash I had in the bank and had to blow it all up.
I had to sell everything except for two little babies:
JEPQ (ETF) JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium
VTWO (ETF) Vanguard Russell 200
They aren’t even my two favorites. Just happened to be the two left standing after “Purge 2: Gimmie My Money”.
I keep doing this to myself because I put every little stray dollar into the Market on payday. Then I run out of cash before the next payday and have to raid my stocks.
So, sadly, I don’t have much in the way of cash to play with until Friday. Unless…
I sell something:
I looked back at all of the history of VTWO and it looks like garbage. Made me wonder why I bought it in the first place - there must be a better ETF that follows the Russell 2000 so I will keep looking.
This brings me to a question that I will be asking myself on my post-payday trades this coming week:
What’s the reason you’re getting in? What’s the reason you’re getting out?
It’s advice you and I have heard before, but advice I tend to forget.
Thanks for reading and great luck to you and your investing this week! 📈📈
